Dear Illinois Resident,

During this past year of economic turbulence and uncertainty, the State Treasurer’s Office has continued to hold the safety of the state’s investment portfolio as its top priority. Though not unscathed from market fallout, our portfolio remains secure because of stringent policies upheld by my office.

Below you will find a copy of the 2008 Annual Report for State Treasurer’s Office that takes a closer look at the state’s investments. It also provides an open accounting of the activities of my office over the past year and includes a look at the initiatives we intend to pursue in the year to come.
